Mama, I Learned That When You Felt Unobserved
Dear mom, there are so many things I have to thank you for. Especially for these details that speak for you. Because in every daily act you have naturally shown your noble and pure essence. It’s a lot that I could see while you thought I wasn’t watching you.
Yes i was watching you I admire you with a pride that resides deep in my heart. When you thought I didn’t notice you, through these actions I could see your pure soul.
Those little great details of each day that you thought I hadn’t seen are the ones that make you a great person. Unique, immense. Mom , thank you for all of these practical lessons. Thank you for your example, which has made you my role model in life.
Mom, I learned that when you felt unobserved
One day when I was very young we went to the hospital. You went to visit a sick friend you were so worried about. That’s when I understood that people should take care of each other. Without expecting anything for this unconditional love that unites us.
On another occasion, I saw you give bills to a mother and baby who asked for coins on the train. I’ve seen you work on several community projects. You were enthusiastic about it and concerned about things that weren’t our problems at all. You have never refused to help those most in need.
It also helped me understand that it is possible to care for the welfare of others if you have some time and / or money. Of course you knew: “Solidarity starts at home.” But you could cross those limits. You taught me the value of solidarity and generosity.
Empathy, social conscience and kindness were lessons that penetrated deep into my soul. A compassionate being who always fought for the happiness of the other, for equality of opportunity and equality. I saw all of this while you mistakenly believed that I was not watching you.
On another occasion, I remember you feeding a homeless kitten. Unprotected, it mewed heartbreakingly on the street. You didn’t hesitate to bring him some food to satisfy his hunger and to comfort him a little. So I was able to learn that animals should be treated with all our love and respect.
I have seen you happy and cheerful day and night, regardless of fatigue, stress and the blows of life. But I could see the pain in your eyes too. Sometimes you couldn’t hold back the tears. On that day I understood that sadness and pain are also part of the spice of life.
Two feelings that are mistakenly considered negative. However, they are necessary. They are the ones we have to go through to see the light of joy. With these emotional breaks, you showed me as a mother that crying is normal. Regardless of the person’s gender, it is sometimes essential.
What you gave me while feeling unobserved
While you mistakenly thought that I was not watching you, I saw a lot of very interesting things. Things that have shaped my heart and left an indelible mark. They did me good, they filled me and comforted me. Because in truth you gave me a lot.
For example, I could see you looking at one of my pictures with a huge smile on your face. That day you hung my drawing on the fridge with a magnet. So I didn’t hesitate for a second and ran away excitedly to paint another one. I also appreciate the way you have collected each of my thousands of letters.
Every lunch and dinner seemed to be a la carte. You insisted on preparing my favorite dishes in their healthiest version. Always concerned about my health and making me feel good and pampered. You made my favorite cake just for me a thousand times. Well, these little details are very important!
You never stopped taking care of me, as well as our house, our sweet home based on your efforts and sacrifices. You master patience and dedication. You take care of every detail of every family member. And so I learned that we have to take care of what we have and what we like.
And it didn’t matter if you felt bad. Regardless of the factors that may have weighed on you. You have always been there and fulfilled your obligations. So I could see what responsibility really means.
